Come and join us for our “Stories” gathering – because everyone has one – on Monday, February 21 from 7:00 – 9:00pm at Carol Miller’s house, 5402 Miller Lane, Richardson, TX 75082. MAP

Hearing stories of how God has worked in others’ lives is not only encouraging, but also helps us to understand who God is and how to see Him in our own lives. This is a gathering for women all ages and stages in life that come together for dinner and to hear a personal story from Susan Williams, who is a wife and mother and an instrumental part of the Woodcreek Worship Team.

Ladies! The Christmas rush is over and kids are back in school, so it’s time to sit a spell and read a good book! Pick up a copy of The Blue Bottle Club by Penelope J. Stokes and enjoy.

New Women’s Bible Study

Make plans now to join us for a new women’s Bible study that will begin on January 4th!! The study will be offered as a part of both the Tuesday night and Wednesday morning Heart to Heart groups.

Live A Praying Life by Jennifer Kennedy Dean is a 13-week interactive Bible study that addresses many of the frequently asked questions concerning prayer and that offers a humbling glimpse into God’s sovereign plan to include us in accomplishing His will. It is not just about prayer, but also about releasing the power of prayer in our lives.

Women’s Nicaragua Mission Trip

In October we returned from our annual mission trip to Managua, Nicaragua, where we partnered with the amazing women of House of Hope (houseofhopenicaragua.com). This organization helps women and girls leave prostitution through job training, housing and Bible teaching. Pictures from our trip will be coming soon!

Woodcreek Women are offering several Bible studies this year. These studies run from September 14 through April 27 on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings & Wednesday mornings.

Here are the studies being offered:

THE AMAZING COLLECTION

The Bible for Women… Book by Book

Year 1: Genesis — Song of Solomon
Year 2: Isaiah — Acts
Year 3: Romans — Revelation

If you’re new to Women’s Bible studies at Woodcreek, The Amazing Collection is the place to start! The Amazing Collection is a life-changing overview of the entire Bible. Through it, you’ll begin to see the Bible as a complete love letter from God, not just segmented books or studies. You’ll become familiar with the main characters of the Bible, the big picture and principle application of each book, and the beautiful themes that run throughout.

The study includes dynamic teaching and personal testimonies, so whether you’re new to Bible study or have studied the Bible for years, you’ll find that this study helps you make sense of the Bible, from start to finish, in a way that draws you to the heart of our wonderful God!

PURSUIT

Connecting Women to the Heart of God

For those who have already completed THE AMAZING COLLECTION, we are offering Pursuit, Connecting Women to the Heart of God. In the fall, we’ll use Luke: Finding Truth and Healing in Jesus’ Words to Women, by Sue Edwards, as our guide. This inductive study will show us how Christ often ministers to women individually, offering them compassion, and teaching them how to overcome problems with sin, silence, worry, injustice, and more. We’ll see how Jesus’ specific conversations with women in the gospel of Luke can encourage today’s woman to replace negative feelings and destructive behaviors with biblical attitudes and positive actions.

Then in the Spring, we’ll dive into Live a Praying Life, by Jennifer Kennedy Dean. This 13-week interactive Bible study addresses many of the frequently asked questions concerning prayer and offers a humbling glimpse into God’s sovereign plan to include us in accomplishing His will. It is not just about prayer, but about releasing the power of prayer in our lives.

All studies are being offered Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. Only The Amazing Collection Year 3 is being offered on Wednesday evening.

Costs: There are costs for the study materials for the various classes.

Amazing Collection, year 1, 2 & 3 – $23 for the first semester. (2nd semester TBA)

Pursuit – $10 for the first semester. (2nd semester TBA)
